Polling districts and stations under review in Tewkesbury Borough
Tewkesbury Borough Council has started a review of its polling districts and places to make sure that they remain fit-for-purpose and continue to meet the needs of voters.
The review’s key considerations include where polling stations are sited and how accessible they are.
Residents and community groups, together with elected representatives at all levels, are being asked for their feedback on what they think of the current arrangements and any suggestions for alternatives.
Views are particularly sought from those with disabilities on the accessibility of the borough’s polling places.
Alistair Cunningham, Chief Executive and Electoral Registration Officer at Tewkesbury Borough Council, said: “It’s crucial that arrangements and facilities for voting across Tewkesbury Borough meet the needs of all our voters, so that they can make their voices heard at local and national elections.
“We want to hear from as many people as possible so that we can make any changes that might be necessary in time for the Police and Crime Commissioner elections in May 2024, and the upcoming parliamentary election which has to be called before the end of 2024.”
The consultation will run until Friday, 3 November 2023.
